Walk with Compassion is raising funds one step at a time.
The nonprofit held a walk today at the Naperville Riverwalk and Grand Pavilion. Through the course were different stations where walkers could learn about children around the world who are living in poverty and the difficult challenges they face every day.
“Compassion International is a great way to reach out to children who are in need all over the world. And the Walk with Compassion raises funds for emergency needs. Compassion is a sponsorship organization but they are always emergency medical needs, or drinking water, and disaster relief that come up so these funds are helping those communities and helping lift kids out of poverty,” said Mary Ann Witvoet, the logistics chair for Walk with Compassion in Naperville.
Around 100 participated in the walk, and combined with online donations, over $6,000 was raised.
