In 2010, the who’s who of Naperville brought their best dance moves to a competition that would become an annual tradition.
The city’s own “Dancing with the Celebrities” event began coincidentally the same year Naperville native and gold medalist in Olympic figure skating Evan Lysacek appeared on the hit ABC show “Dancing with the Stars.”
The Community Career Center paired participants with local dance professionals for a night that would heat up the dance floor but also bring in donations. The not-for-profit provides resources for people searching for work.
Since their inaugural “Dancing with the Celebrities” competition more than six years ago, the Community Career Center has raised a total exceeding $400,000 from the event.
