Neuqua Valley vs. Naperville North Boys Lacrosse 4.9.19

Naperville North enters play undefeated on the season but they have been off for a few weeks as they open up DVC action against 7 and 1 Neuqua Valley.

First Quarter

Thirty seconds into the game and Neuqua is off and running. Sam Schink has the ball in open space, he fighs off a defender and then makes a nifty move right in front of the net to open up scoring.

7:20 left in the first and Wildcats on the offensive again. Ciden Perry hits Ben Schink knocking on the doorstep and he smokes it past Jake Allgood. Neuqua up 2-1 heading to the second.

There is no stopping the Schinks appartently. Ben goes right by the huskies defense, makes a move to shake a defender and scores his second goal of the night. 3-1 wildcats.

Seconds Quarter

Now it’s North racing up the field with 4:30 left in the second. Cole Loebig on the attack plays some tic tac toe before finding Jacob Lubrant for the goal, North trailing by 1.

Just under three and a half until the break, Norths Grant Pass blows past the neuqua defense at midfield and bounces a shot past Cam Nevins for his second goal of the game, all tied up at 3s but we enter the break with Neuqua up 4-3.

Third Quarter

North again coming from behind in the third. Braden Dunlap races fown the side with a pair of Wildcats on his tail, he his Lubrant to tie the game at 4 with 1033 left in 3.

Neuqua looking to pull ahead again. Ben Schink drives and hits a cutting Sam Schink… they’ve got quite a connection. Neuqua again with the lead.

Fourth Quarter

North hanging on thought with 833 left in the game. Hueskies pass in a triangle and then hit Lubrant who scores his third goal of the game for the hat trick. North now leading 6-5.

727 left now and the huskies with some crisp passing. The ball finds Mikey Ancona and despite being heavily guarded, he fires a laser to the back of the net from 15 yards out. North extending their lead 7-5.

Wildcats need to stop the bleeding and quick. Ben Foy plays aggressive and splits a pair of defenders and goes top shelf on Allgood, Wildcats trailing 7-6.

Final seconds of the game, Neuqua desperate for the equalizer but they couldn’t get a look and the Huskies beat the Wildcats for the first time in 4 years 7-6.
