Naperville North vs. Hinsdale Central Boys Volleyball 5.21.19

Naperville North hosts a regional semifinal game, seeded 9th. The huskies are climbing just a slight uphill battle against 8 seed Hinsdale Central. The winner advances to the regional final.

First Set

Game tied at 1s, Hinsdale Centrals looking to establish a lead early on. Luke Vozenilek gets the set from Bryce Bernard and gets the cross-court kill for the Red Devils to take the early lead.

Few points later and Hinsdale Central leading by 2 now, Vozenilek goes for another kill but North tips it up and then sets up John Jaworski for the kill to pull the huskies closer.

North starting to get in their groove. Connor Wojcik quick sets Henry Zhou for the put down, North trailing by 2 in the first set.

On set point, North’s Kevin Doran gets just a little too eager and hits the kill out for the Red Devils to take the first set 25-21.

Second Set

Second set and Doran gets a second chance early. Wojcik sets him up for the tip to tie the game up at 2s.

Naperville North now in the lead, up by 1, Jaworski looks to get another point but it’s tipped up by Hinsdale, they then reset and Richie Lozanoski finds a block gap to tie the game up at 6.

We jump in to a longer rally, and North really shows their strength, adjusting around the court, Dillion Bramlett looks to get the point and the Red Devils are forced to send a free ball over Bramlett gets another go but again, its dug out, Richie Lozanoksi goes for the attempt but Zach Vaugh amd Henry Zhou throw up a block for the huskie point.

But despite the huskies best effort, Hinsdale Central was just too much. On match point Cal Snyder gets up at the net and challenges a huskie block and wins as the ball falls between the net. Hinsdale Central takes the win and advances to play St. Francis in the Final.
