Naperville Bats Test Positive for Rabies

Naperville police say two bats in our area have tested positive for rabies. Both infected were little brown bats. One was removed from a yard on Ambleside Circle and the other from a home on North Loomis Street.

If you find a bat in your home or business do not touch it. Call Naperville Animal Care and Control or the police department to remove the bat for testing.

And, be aware, bites can happen during sleep and might be so small you won’t feel or see it, but they can still become infected.

Animal control officials also recommend you make sure your pets have their rabies vaccinations, even those that live inside.
