DuPage Gets Funds To Fight Opioids

Over the next four years, the DuPage County Health Department will receive $1.5 million in federal funding to help fight the opioid epidemic.

The funds are part of the First Responders – Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act grant, and will go toward emergency training and medication like Narcan to combat an opioid overdose.

55 law enforcement agencies and other groups participate in the DuPage Narcan Program, including the Naperville Police Department and its Connect for Life program.

So far this year, the DuPage Narcan program has saved 106 lives.
